Birthday Round 2

Birthday Round #2 was a friend birthday party. Dagen chose to do it at the gymnastic gym. It was filled with rope swings, a foam pit, uneven bars, balance beam, tramps, and the whole floor was springy. It was a great place for 11 rambuncious boys! It was so much FUN!!

Lonely

Challenge 30 - Somone that I miss....would have to be Pam's family. We used to do everything together in Logan from rodeo, animal day, too even going grocery shopping. I miss my playmates. Tear Tear Tear. Good thing they are close enough to visit. YELLOWSTONE HERE WE COME!!! LOL

Challenge #29 - Something that makes you happy! I would have to say hands down I love to have family get togethers. Sorensen's may drive each other crazy but we have so much fun together. We play hard!!! This is only some of the clan all party poopers not pictured. lol

Today's challenge was something that scares you. Mine is definately hobos!!!!!! Creep me out they were giant in Logan. No joke I thought it was a mouse. Yikes!!!!

Birthday Round 1

Well Dagen's birthday celebration started yesterday. He took star wars cupcakes to school yesterday, and they got to watch a movie for it. Today, he woke up at 5:30 am and wondered if he could open presents. After much negotiation he agreed to 6:50. lol If you know the rest of the boys you know this was a killer!! However, knowing Dagen he has to pack as much fun into his Birthday so like I said this is only Round 1.

He finally got a big bike, because did you know that he is the only 2nd grader he knows that has a small bike. We have been hearing that for months. He was very excited and we had to take it out for a bike ride bright and early.

4th Grade Program

Colton had his 4th grade program this week. He volunteered to be Robert Fulton, steamboat inventor. Yes, Colton will roll his eyes if you didn't already know that. Anyway, Colton has been working hard on singing, and memorizing his lines, we even had to create this costume for him. (Thank heavens Grandma made it back in time!!!) This is his fancy costume.

So those of you who know Colton know he is a shy boy and does nothing in public. So when I heard about the fact he had a main part I started sweating bullets. Not that he didn't have his parts memorized but that he would get there and refuse to do it. Well it floored us when he just got up and did it like such a big kid. I was so happy for him!! Well done kido!!!

They did a program on Go West. It was very well done. Even Grandpa said, "We've waited 10 years for that." It made his Mama and Papa so proud!

A lot

Challenge was something that means a lot to you. I would have to say my religion and a temple marriage.

That is what makes this a forever venture.

My Day

So today was a very rare quiet day. We really only had to pick up kids from Scouts. So we made a giant batch of chocolate chip cookies and plan on watching American Idol. You learn to love quiet moments in a house full of boys. lol

Change

There are two things I would love to change in this world. They are on two opposites of the spectrum.

#1 - Neglected Children- It breaks my heart to see these kids that no one takes the time to love. If I could do it I would take them all home with me.


#2 - Elderly Lonely People - I wish that people would stop to listen to these amazing people. It is almost like once they stop working and raising their family the become a background. If I could I would stop and have lunch with all of them.

Read

The challenge for today was to post your favorite read. Many of you know that I didn't really start to read until I was 25. Crazy I know. I never learned phonics and let me tell you reading was always a huge struggle. After I had Colton and quit working I got very bored so I thought maybe I would try reading again. Now I cannot stop reading. I read multiple times in a day!!! Love IT!!!! The Glass Castle is my favorite read because it is amazing how to my your perspective on where you are determines how you view your world. It a great read!!!

Better

Challege #22 - Something you wish you were better at. I would have to say gardening. I like to look at all the stuff and plant but for some reason I lose interest in watering, weeding, and fertilizing. lol Kindof important stuff.

Forget

Challenge day 21 - Something I wish I could forget. Well one night about midnight Ryan was out of town and I had a genius moment. I thought well I can see some gray hair I think I will try and color it myself. So being a awesome thinker I picked out a color and whala 20 minutes later I was the color of orange autum leaves.

So the next morning I thought well hello that didn't work I will try that again. This time with a little different color.

The second time I turned out gothic black with a few spots of orange. No lie I looked like a gothic cheetah. It so sucked. I couldn't even leave my house to go to the store or church, etc...

Needless to say I had to call in an expert....Debra. And boy did I hear all about how I knew better then to pull a stunt like this. ONE THING I WISH I COULD DEFINATELY FORGET!!!!

Oh Baby

So the challenge for yesterday was a picture of your youngest photo. I had to have Grandma send it to me via phone message. lol As Grandpa kindly reminded me I wasn't born in the digital age. lol rudeness. This is my oldest picture at 2 months old. And yes i see it is turned funny back off I can't figure it out. I have to say I get better with age. lol

Places you dream about.

Challenge #19 was a place you would like to go. I picked two things I would love to do. Things I did once before when I was in college, but something I would love to do with Ryan.

First, I would love to go back to Turkey. It was the most beautiful, vibrant place I have ever been. It was such a contrast to what I live in. I remember the smells, colors, people so vividly. I would love to see it all again.


Second, I would love to go back to Europe and go castleing. It was so fun to see the old places and explore. It was such and adventure.

Insecure

Day #18 challenge wasn't any easier. I would like for everyone to think that I have no weaknesses but so much for that. Challenge 18 was a picture of your biggest insecurity. For me I have to say hands down it would be my body. I can remember this being a issue clear from the 4th grade. I remember going on a trip and on the way home I had decided I was fat, and I remember thinking all the way from Salt Lake about what I could do to be skinner. I struggled through Jr. High and High school clear up to having Colton. It was then I decided I had to be healthy for his sake. I can't say that I don't think of it often. However, I do try to handle it in healthier ways now.

Impact

Challenge #17 picture of somthing that has made a huge impact on your life recently. Ok so I know that I am a day late on this...it was a tough question. I would have to say for the most recent huge impact would be the recession. About 8 months ago Ry was laid off of his job due only to cut backs. It was a oh crap moment. I had always been so stocked up on food storage and savings and this time I was caught a little with my pants down. Needless to say we learned a lot from this experience. We learned what really matters most, the value of stock piling, how to be frugal, and the difference between want and need. I think we had gotten very comfortable in our life and it was almost as if we needed to be reminded of those simple lessons. Slow learner I guess. lol

Luckiest Mom in the World

I am the luckiest Mom in the world, with 3 of the most amazing boys ever. This is what I was awaken with this morning....my appetizer. Dagen had made me the biggest sandwich ever.

Then my real breakfast arrived waffles with strawberries and cream. (Thanks Gma and Gpa)

Colton had stayed up till midnight making me a Happy Mother's Day sign that said ps don't clean we will do it. What a better way to say Happy Mother's Day.

They had each made a very special gift just for me. Love you to the moon.

The amazing part is they pulled this off all without their Dad who is still out of town.

Inspriation

Challenge #16 - Is a picture of someone who inspires you. Well being that is Mother's Day and I am a woman of course the most inspiring person in my life is my Mom. She has taught me how to look for the good in everything, life should be fun, serve because it is good for you, and when it is bad go to the bathroom, take 2 asprins, and plow through it. Love her to pieces. THANKS!!!


Also, I had an amazing woman that I was a neighbor with in Logan her name was Sharon Jarret. She faced so many challenges alone, and with her children. However, at first I was a little worried we would not get along. We were paired up as visiting teachers. She would faithfully get me out to the nursing home every month no matter what trama was taking place in her life. As I learned her story I grew to love this woman. She was truly a survivor. She taught me that , "That every smile has a story." She has taught me not to be quick to judge. I remember when I had knee surgery she would take time out of her evening while Ryan was at work and come and sit on the floor to play cars with my boys. I always thought you do not have time for this your life is crazy. However, she always served with a smile and I never felt like she was burdened by this. She made a huge impact in my life. Thank you!!!! Sorry I have no picture I don't think this woman would even know I still think about her.

Dream

Challenge day 15 - What do you want to do before you die? Well I want to do so many things and I like to think I am never going to die. So just one of the many things I would like to do is visit every state for more then a drive thru. I want to see what makes each state unique and see people from every part of the woods. One of many I'm planning on a long long life.

Challenge 14

Today's Challenge #14 was a picture of someone you can't imagine your life without. Well I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for my Mom and Dad. Not to mention all they have taught me and all they continue to teach me. We had the blessing of moving closer to them 3 years ago, and now my boys have a very special relationship with Grandma and Grandpa. (Now maybe they don't see that as a blessing seeings how now they have to take 1/2 the year and move away from us. jk) I just couldn't bear the thought of them not being in my life. Love them more then they will ever know.

Okay for something I really love is a chilled Pepsi. Yes, everyone you don't need to lecture me...I am fully aware that it is an addiction and unhealthy. But so far the pay off must be worth it. lol

HATES

Challenge day #11 was a picture of something you hate.

So there you have it I hate cracked feet. I find them to be very annoying, painful, and slow to heal. I love flip flops and wear them for about 9 months out of the year (weather permiting....I do live in Idaho). Nothing makes for a grouchier morning then a cracked heal OUCH!! Not much else I really hate in the world. Maybe a lot of things that bug, but hate is a strong word.

Goofy

Day 10 challenge - Picture of someone you goof off with the most. Well I have to say there is rarely a serious moment in this house. They are all expert teasers and goofers. So I would have to say I mostly dork around with my own little family.

Sisters

The Challenge Day 9 was who has gotten you through the most. Well that is what life is all about tough times and growing right. I picked my sisters because there is just something about sisters that makes everything right in the world. If you need to giggle, vent, cry, or buy a new swim suit you can always count on them to be there. I love these girls with all my heart and I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have a sister........my boys included.

Challenge day #7 - Post a picture that makes you laugh. This was a tough one there are so many to choose from. I chose this on of all of us Aunties holding up Jen after her wedding. If you will notice we are laughing so hard we totally dropped her on the ground. Now that is love when you drop a new bride on the dirty grass and are laughing to hard to help her up. LOL



or there are a whole stack of these Mandie making us cringe pictures. We are so not a huggy family but nope Mandie is determined to change that. Makes me laugh everytime.
