Chess Tournament

Today was the District 91 Chess Tournament. The boys did a great job. They have been doing chess club every Monday since school started. We are very proud of them.

Dagen took 3rd place in his grade!! Way to go Kiddo!!! This is Dagen with Mr. H. he is a TempleView Hero.

Challenge Day #7 - a picture of your most treasured item. Ok I just couldn't stick with one. Generally I just think things are just things and I have no real attachment. However, on these two items they just mean more.

Item #1 - My absolutely favorite picture given to me by one of my favorite people when I was going thru a really sucky time. It gave me so much comfort then and still today when I think I might go crazy...I stop and stare and this picture and think I really can do this. XOXOXO to the one who knew I needed this!!!


Item #2 - Is an exact duplicate of my favorite blanket growing up. It was just falling apart left and right. It was mostly just a rag. Ryan search all over for the exact same material and then had my mom sew it up for me. I have to say I am very selfish with this and I don't care. I so love that they spent so much time doing it. And It is the most comfortable blanket ever.

Afternoon Hangin'

We got to spend the afternoon with a good friend Kristi. We had lunch, made delicious chocolate cookies, and played with the kids. It is always a good break to mess up the routine.

What?

Challenge #6 - Was post a picture of someone who you would like to trade places with for a day. I picked Oprah Winfrey simply because she has so much power and money. Think of all the good you could do in a day if you were in her position with my golden heart. lol

Memory

Challenge day #5 - Was to post a picture of your favorite memory. Well those of you who know me know that I am all about making memories. I have lots of fond memories, but the trip to the cabin with the Sorensen's was one of my favorite. We had so much fun pack in the little house it was wall to wall people. The best thing we did was float warm river (which is anything but). It was a fun filled packed adventure filled with one memory after another!!!!

A Night in the Life of the Smiths

Challenge Day #4 - Was a picture of your night. Well a typical Tuesday night in the life of the Smith's as of lately. Is rush off to swim lessons, rush home feed everyone, and then race off to mutual. Today didn't dissappoint. lol
Colton has come a long was in swimming this year. He is doing great!!!

Dagen has always liked water, but he is a big flirt with his instructor.

Oaklen thinks it is just torture to have to watch and not actually swim.

He's Famous

The other day Colton came running in so excited after school. He had been interviewed for the newspaper. So everyday he has faithfully checked. Well today he was in it. He was so excited that he said, "Look Mom I'm famous I am sharing a page with Obama"! Too Funny! And his answers cracked me up.....we've taught him well. lol And I have to say being famous at 10 is about the coolest thing ever.

Here is what it says:

Spring Clean Up

For all you Idahoan's you know that this was the first day with no jackets! Wahoo!!! We had a spring outside clean up day. We cleaned out the garage and spruced up the yard. It was a lot of work, but heck you can't beat a day like that!

Hippity Hoppity Easter

It is Easter time!! This is a glimpse into our Easter Celebration. It started with 4 dozen eggs to dye! Oaklen was so suprised everytime he pulled out an egg and it had changed colors. lol Dagen was a speed dyer like his life full speed ahead. Colton had to do a artistic design on each egg. Sunday we woke up to find the Easter Bunny had stopped by. We had to search high and low for the eggs. Then he left Colton a MP3, Dagen a scooter, and Oak a Bat and Ball (however, he was much more impressed with peeps)! It was a fun day for everyone!!!

Blog challenge day #2 - A picture of you and a person you have been close to for the longest.

Okay so if you are not pictured here do not be offended. There are a number of you out there, but Ryan has been a consistant close for 14 years. Crazy Long Time!!! Ryan is a great balancer in my life he is so laid back it works well for my need to control. He is an amazingly giving husband! He knows just about all there is to know about me. Lucky Guy!! It is just something that happens when you spend time with someone almost everyday for almost a decade and 1/2. Ouch! He knows just about all there is to know about me, and I love that I can just be Suzy around him anytime and anywhere. XOXOXOXOXO

30 Day Blog Challenge

SUZANNE

A Little R&R

This past weekend I got to go to St. George for a girls weekend. It is always so nice to get away and see the girls. I still think they are all a little crazy, but it makes for a fun getaway! And don't feel bad for my boys they got to go to the Monster Trucks without me. However, if I was with them they probably wouldn't have ran out of gas. lol

We've Got Company

Oh honey...we've got company!!! The Southwick came to town for the weekend. It was a crazy, fun filled, messy, and wild weekend. I tried to get one cute pitcure for Grams and Gramps after ten shots this is the best I got. Always a side show Bob and usually 2 or 3.

So we tried an Adult (rated pg) day. An oddity for Sorensen's we went to the Bodies exhibit, breakfast, then the girls went shopping and boys well one never know what they do....wait I remember now they played their electronics and over paid and I mean way over paid the sitter. Not that I'm not sure they didn't earn their money being that it was Colt, Ace, Oak, Dono, Dec, Zayd, and Jake. Fun day out!!

Dono has been reminding me that we needed to have a romantic Valentine dinner since Feb. 14th. So this was our event. Dono set up the table, and even got to light the candles. If you will notice it was still light out but hey we we're too hungry to wait. lol





So I got the huge package of red cups from Sams Club. It was hours of fun for the boys...who knew. One night...or should I say morning, I went downstairs and they had a giant pyramid made in the hallway and it came crashing down. lol You could imagine Pam's delight. Then they asked if they could just watch one movie. BOYS!!

Spring Break 2011

So this year we decided to do a mini trip to Salt Lake for springbreak. It was definately springier (I know that is not really a word)there then here. We stopped by the airplane museum had the whole kids station all to ourselves, swam a lot morning and night, at the aquarium we touched the sting rays and all kinds of creatures, and the saw the imax 3D under the sea. We had a great break! However, instead of curing our cabin fever it made it much much worse. That SUNSHINE better be on its way.
